In addition to the livestock industry the area has many precision farming operations with such crops as wheat, canola, barley, mustard, alfalfa and hay. Both dry land and irrigated farming is practiced in the area.

This region also has several active Hutterite colonies providing high quality, direct to the public, produce such as potatoes, cabbage, corn, cucumbers and squash.

It's clear that agriculture is the major industry of the area.
