Valier Area Outdoor Recreation

If the fisherman can not get his or her fill at Lake Frances, there are several additional lakes and countless rivers and streams teeming with trout all within a short drive from Valier. In addition to the recreational possibilities afforded by the Lake Frances Recreational Area itself, the area surrounding Valier, Montana is rich with recreational opportunities for the outdoors person or hunter.

Within a short drive from downtown Valier the hunter can find a wide variety of game including:  Mule Deer, Whitetail Deer, Antelope, Pheasants, Sharptail Grouse, Huns, Ducks, Geese, Turkey, Elk, Bear, Mountain Lion.

For the horse person, there are ranches and back country outfitters in the area. Several ranches offer day packages for the riding enthusiast.
